Adam Slepian Joins Urban-Air Port as a Non-Executive

Adam Slepian joins Urban-Air Port as a Non Executive advisor.

We couldn't be more excited to highlight Adam Slepian, former U.S. Army Special Forces (Green Berets) & now Chief Strategy Officer at Otto Aviation, who has been a non-executive advisor to Urban-Air Port (UAP) since 2024.  We have known Adam since UAP was formed, from the very beginning, when he was initially the Global Head of Partnerships at Supernal, Hyundai Motor Group's eVTOL division.

During his tenure at Supernal, he became Chief Commercial Officer, replacing Mike Whittaker who moved onto become the FAA Administrator and we were very fortunate to have Adam hold the UAP investor Board Seat for Supernal and Hyundai - our largest external shareholder.

Adam is unique and his razor sharp sense of how to build and scale not only a start-up but an entire start-up industry that of eVTOL & AAM - is second to none.

Through his Board seat and now Non Executive advisor role, Adam has supported UAPs growth with financial and strategic guidance.  Adam was pivotal in Supernal's significant involvement in AirOne - which remains the only time in history that a fully operational vertiport was built and operated in a complex urban and airspace environment.  That was April 2022.

In business and in life, when the going gets tough, its people like Adam that you need standing tall next to you, side by side.  Adam and I first met in 2019 when we exchanged introductory presentations and instantly realised our approach to AAM prioritised building a sustainable and viable business model and ecosystem - were exactly aligned.

Adam has been instrumental in UAPs success thus far and will play a pivotal role going forward as a shareholder - but not only that, he is a pleasure to work with, have around and share this journey with.   We laugh a lot too!
— Ricky Sandhu, Founder of Urban-Air Port

Before UAP, OTTO and Supernal, Adam was a leader in McKinsey’s Aerospace & Defense and Capital Projects & Infrastructure practices, where he led strategy and operations projects in budget effectiveness, procurement, growth, and organisational development. This experience was immensely valuable to UAP.

However, Adam started his professional career with over 9 years of experience on active duty in the U.S. Army serving as an Infantry and Special Forces Officer (Green Berets).  He had multiple combat tours to Iraq and Afghanistan where he led both strategic planning and tactical implementation as the ground force commander of hundreds of high risk operations working by, with, and through a multitude of foreign armed forces and other organisations in the harshest of environments.

Adam served on multiple tours with the US Special Forces and lives by the motto of the Green Berets, “De Oppresso Liber” to Free the Oppressed.

Adam’s contribution to UAP has been profound and remains unparalleled.  It’s a privilege to welcome him as a Non Executive & Shareholder.

His boots on the ground and sleeves rolled up attitude provide Adam with a mission and team first foundation, an attitude to business and life that I admire. His unique experience is so important to this industry, and we are excited to leverage our aviation technology to build our UAP Defence products with intelligence from Adam’s experience on the ground.

Adam recognised how our Docks Box for logistics could be invaluable in a military application to support C4/C6ISR and provide battle winning defence-technology and capability.
— Andrea Wu, CEO of Urban-Air Port

As the aerospace & AAM landscape evolves, the world becoming more complex and defence emerging as a new priority - we are excited to leverage our team's experience in aviation, aerospace, tech and defence to launch our next generation defence infrastructure - Docks Box for Defence.

From the second I met the team at UAP I knew they were the right people to help bring this market to reality.  Visionary designers and developers, yet simultaneously laser-focused leaders on the mission at hand.

They know how to build the right technology to optimise for location, cost and functionality while meeting rigorous and complex market & mission demands.
— Adam Slepian, Non Executive at Urban-Air Port

About Urban-Air Port®

Aviation-Tech & Defence-Tech | The World's most advanced, patented infrastructure technology for Advanced Air Mobility.

Urban-Air Port is an award-winning infrastructure provider that develops landing and charging infrastructure for new forms of sustainable urban air transport such as passenger and cargo VTOL air taxis and autonomous delivery drones for civilian and defence applications. Its mission is to enable the electrification of aviation by addressing the largest single constraint to sustainable air mobility – ground infrastructure – in order to create a zero-emission mobility ecosystem, significantly cutting congestion and air pollution from passenger and cargo transport.

Urban-Air Port is recognised as a world leader in the Advanced Air Mobility sector, with plans to deliver patented vertiport technology that provides ultra-compact, high-capacity infrastructure: this will revolutionise cities around the world, making them more connected and cleaner, thereby accelerating our green economic future. Urban-Air Port’s technology is proven to respond more effectively to the unique characteristics of electric & hybrid VTOL aircraft and therefore offer safer, quieter and more sustainable vertiport infrastructure than any other provider.

The Urban-Air Port technology-driven “Vertical Airfield” compacts a conventional airfield and allows for safe electric vertical take-off and landing at height, acting like an aircraft carrier. Urban-Air Port vertiports are 80% smaller than any other provider: they provide a modular design for flexible expansion, maximise eVTOL throughput and come with a modular energy storage system – all in all providing an enhanced passenger experience, and optimum performance and range for the eVTOL due to minimised energy consumption during ground operations.

Urban-Air Port’s Air-One project in Coventry, launched in April 2022 and supported by UK Government Research and Innovation funding, was the world’s first fully operational vertiport in such dense downtown location, with over 15,000 visitors and 150 successful flights orchestrated in the complex urban and air environment of downtown Coventry and within Coventry Airport’s Flight Restriction Zone.

The company is backed by major international partners, including Supernal (a part of Hyundai Motor Group) and Directors of M7 Real Estate (part of Oxford Properties). Urban-Air Port’s team of innovators, aeronautical engineers and aerospace experts have worked at companies including Airbus, Foster + Partners, Arup, BAA, Bank of Ireland, Knight Frank, McKinsey, Hyundai Motor Group, Vertical Aerospace, EASA, NATS, Uber, Qatar Airways, H55, Otto Aviation and the US Special Forces & British Army.
