Urban-Air Port announces investment from major European Urban Logistics Provider

Urban-Air Port’s Docks Box

Urban-Air Port®, the UK-based developer of technology-driven ground infrastructure for passenger air taxis and autonomous delivery drones, today announced a major equity investment into the company via their Series A, from the founding directors of M7.

This investment is a signal of how important UAP infrastructure will be to “meet the moment” as cities around the world tackle urban logistics growth without creating more strain on already stretched transport links whilst still having to meet their net zero carbon targets.

M7 is proud of its strong record of supporting and promoting innovative tech-driven real estate solutions. We have followed closely Urban-Air Port’s progress since they launched the innovative Air-One programme to demonstrate urban air mobility, including autonomous logistics drones. The official launch period is taking place in Coventry from 25th April 2022 onwards. M7’s platform continues to carefully consider the evolution of the supply chain, the needs of the consumer and the environmental and social impacts of movement of goods. Our portfolio of retail and logistics parks has been carefully selected to benefit from the significant structural changes in e-commerce.
— David Ebbrell, CEO of M7

Urban-Air Port is developing global networks of specialist ground, air and digital infrastructure to support Urban Logistics, worldwide.  Urban logistics drones have the exciting possibility to help reduce logistics and delivery congestion on our roads in a sustainable, eco-friendly, zero emission way cutting emissions by up to 47% when compared to light commercial vehicles.  Through the development of  worldwide networks for logistics drone deliveries, Urban-Air Port will provide the vital infrastructure needed to progress the industry so that companies like M7 can implement this new technology across wider real-estate portfolios.

In conjunction with this announcement, Urban-Air Port is releasing an exclusive preview of its very latest model for logistics, called Docks Box.  Docks Box is a specialist solution designed to seamlessly integrate with existing logistics networks to add urban air mobility to the supply chain through the addition of Logistics Drones.  Docks Box utilises the existing loading docks of warehouses, distribution centres and fulfilment centres to “plug-in” air mobility in a completely modular and unintrusive way with little-to-no disruption to existing operations.  The units are flexible, movable and scalable.  The UAP Docks Box model is designed to co-join with Urban-Air Port’s previously released City Box model to provide an end-to-end solution from fulfilment centre to the city, to ease demand within the supply chain and reduce congestion within our towns and cities.  Urban-Air Port’s patented designs are set to revolutionise global logistics networks.

We are delighted to welcome aboard some of the most respected and experienced industry-leading experts from the world of urban logistics, real estate investment management and development. The founding directors of M7 have been at the absolute forefront of the urban logistics revolution since the beginning of the new millennium and its continuation through the online retailing boom. Their guidance will be invaluable as we develop the next revolution through the addition of urban logistics drones and related infrastructure
